Although Katherine has not been able to do any sculpture since her kiln drowned in Katrina, she enjoys doing it very much. These pieces are all from several years ago, but Katherine plans to start working with clay again with the next year.

Meet Katherine

"Daisy." This tile was modeled after a very sweet, spoiled, and loud beagle/dachshund mix named Daisy. Approx. 4"X4". 2005.

Front Desk at Natural Pet Care. This is the entire front of the front desk at Katherine's mother's veterinary office. Katherine made almost all of the hand-made tiles seen below. For close-up views, see further pictures. 2004-2005.

Lion. This is the second lion tile that Katherine has made. Roughly 4"X4". 2004-2005.

Sasha. Modeled after one of Katherine's dogs, a Samoyed named Sasha. Roughly 4"X4". 2004-2005.

Lizard. Roughly 4"X4". 2004-2005.

Frog. Roughly 4"X4". 2004-2005.

The Center Tile. Displays the name of the veterinary office, Natural Pet Care. Roughly 8" in diameter. 2004-2005.

Bird. Roughly 4"X3.5". 2004-2005.

Dog. Roughly 3"X2.5". 2004-2005.

Calico Kitty. Roughly 4"X3". 2004-2005.

Stork. Roughly 4"X3". 2004-2005.

Fais. Modeled after Katherine's Italian Greyhound named Fais. Roughly 4"X4". 2004-2005.

Dragonfly Tile. 4"X4". 2004.

Sea Horse Tile. Approx. 3"X5". 2004.

"Lizard Tile." Ceramic, gemstones, grout, acrylic paint. Approx. 8"X8". 2003.

Cat in Window. Although it's not a great picture, it was one of the first tiles that Katherine made. 4"X4". 2002.

Octopus. Roughly 4"X4". 2002.

Lion. This is Katherine's first lion tile and her favorite tile that she has made. Roughly 4"X4". 2002.

Koala. Roughly 5" in diameter. 2002.

Oyster Shell With Pearl. Roughly 4"X4". 2002.

Butterfly Tile. Roughly 4"X4". 2002.

Tree Lamp. Made entirely from clay and decorative paper. A working lamp. Approx. 10"X8". 2005.

Penguin in a Hammock. This was one of Katherine's favorite series of clay figurines that she did. She depicted small penguin figures in many different occupations and situations. They were very comical. Approx. 6"X5". 2005.

Turtle Soap Dish. Approx. 5"X6". 2005.

Frog. Although it's hard to see in the picture, this is one of the many frog figurines that Katherine made over a couple of years. Approx. 2"X3". 2004-2005.
